2.      Students may remediate a low grade or a zero on an assignment if a grade was taken. If a student has received a zero due to failure to complete work, the remediated assignment will receive 80% credit. Assignments given during unexcused absences or suspensions will result in zeros but are eligible for remediation.  Remediation may be done at a time to be determined by the teacher or administration.  Make up times may include during class (if time/teacher allows), ESS, after school, Saturday school, etc.

3.      If a student remediates an assignment or assessment in order to improve a grade, the average of the two assignments will be entered into the gradebook.  If the original grade was a zero, the student may earn a maximum grade of 70.

4.      Zeros can be detrimental to a student’s grade.  Any student scoring a zero on an assignment or assessment will be expected to complete the work for a reduced grade.  Failure to complete the work may result in lunch detention, Saturday school, ISAE, or The Academy as determined by an administrator.  These consequences will only be used in situations where a student has been repeatedly non-compliant in completing assignments.

5.      Students may be placed in a study skills enrichment class if it is determined to be necessary to assist in completing assignments.

6.      Teacher gradebooks will be set up to reflect assignments in the categories of homework, assessments, and/or other projects completed as a part of the classroom curriculum.

7.      Each teacher will give a final test/assignment at the end of the grading period that measures cumulative learning for the duration of the class.  This will be at the end of a 9 weeks for enrichment classes and at the end of the semester for all other classes.

8.      Notices will be sent to parents via email and social media when final grades for each term have been posted.  Parents may check Infinite Campus for grades.  Any parent who wishes to receive a paper copy of a report card may request one from the guidance office.
